¡HEY! Terms of Use
Last updated:
Effective date: October 8, 2026.
1. Who offers ¡HEY!
¡HEY! is an app by GENERADOR EMPRESARIAL DE CODIGOS S. DE R.L. DE C.V. ("Geedgo"), based at Torre Metrópolis, Boulevard Suyapa, Tegucigalpa, Honduras. ¡HEY! is an idea by Ada Nohemy Moreno.
These terms are an agreement between you and Geedgo. By installing or using ¡HEY!, you accept these terms and the privacy policy. If you don't agree, don't use the app.
2. What ¡HEY! does
¡HEY! watches the Bluetooth link between your phone and the watch or band you linked. On Android you can also link headphones. If the link is lost, for example because you walked away from your phone, your phone rings and vibrates.
Its features:
- Days of the week and, if you like, daily hours when ¡HEY! watches.
- Three distance levels: Near, Medium and Far. Each level sets how long ¡HEY! waits after the link is lost before ringing. By default, Near rings at once, Medium waits 10 seconds and Far 25 seconds. If the link comes back during the wait, it doesn't ring.
- Calibration: you can adjust the waits by walking away once with your own device. Calibrated waits are stored on your phone, apply only to that device and replace the default waits and those Geedgo adjusts (section 9).
- The alarm rings for at most 5 minutes. "Got it" stops it. "Silence for 5 minutes" silences it, and ¡HEY! goes back to watching on its own after 5 minutes.
- The ¡HEY!, Thunder and Horse sounds, plus the "Pulse" and "My voice" sounds in section 6. High or low volume, and vibration. "Test the alarm" to hear how it will sound.
- Quick access to pause or turn on ¡HEY! without opening the app: on Android, from Quick Settings; on iPhone with iOS 18 or later, from Control Center.
- Anti-theft mode (section 5).
- Spanish and English, and light or dark mode following your phone's setting.
With headphones, ¡HEY! rings every time they disconnect: when you put them in their case, when they turn off or when their battery runs out.
What ¡HEY! does not do:
- It doesn't measure distance in meters. Bluetooth doesn't allow it. The link is usually lost between 5 and 10 meters, depending on walls and where the phone is.
- It doesn't ring the watch. The phone rings.
- It doesn't locate your phone or show where it is.
- It is not a security, tracking or surveillance system, and it doesn't alert other people or the authorities.
3. What it needs to work
¡HEY! can only alert you when:
- Your phone's Bluetooth is on, and the linked device is on, charged and connected to the phone. If you turn Bluetooth off, ¡HEY! doesn't ring, except with anti-theft mode on.
- ¡HEY! is on, the day is checked, the time is within the hours and the alarm is not silenced.
- You granted the permissions the app asks for and did not remove them later.
- Your phone's battery saving did not close the app. Some brands close background apps; ¡HEY! tells you when it detects this and what to change.
- After you restart your phone, ¡HEY! doesn't watch until you unlock it for the first time.
- On Android, the phone is not in "Total silence" mode.
- On iPhone, Apple Watch is not supported, because Apple does not let other apps monitor its connection. Neither are headphones. ¡HEY! works with Bluetooth watches and bands that connect to the iPhone through their maker's app and that iOS lets other apps see; not all of them allow it.
- On iPhone with iOS 26 or later, the alarm rings like an iPhone alarm. On iOS 15 to 25 with the app in the background, the alert arrives as a notification and stays silent if the iPhone is in silent mode.
- On iPhone, if you close ¡HEY! from the app switcher, restart the phone, or turn Bluetooth off and on again, open it again so it keeps watching.
How it works can vary with the brand and model of your phone and of the linked device, the system version, walls and other devices nearby.
4. What is up to you
You agree to:
- Grant the permissions the app asks for and keep them.
- Follow ¡HEY!'s guidance on your phone's battery saving.
- On iPhone, not close ¡HEY! from the app switcher.
- Test the alarm after installing the app, when you change phones, devices or settings, and from time to time: with "Test the alarm" and by walking away with your device.
- Keep your phone and the linked device charged, and keep the app updated.
- Keep looking after your phone and your belongings. ¡HEY! helps you, but it doesn't replace your own attention.
5. Anti-theft mode
With anti-theft mode on, ¡HEY! asks for your phone's fingerprint, face or lock code to stop or silence the alarm, pause ¡HEY!, change the linked device, the days or the hours, calibrate the distance or turn off anti-theft mode. Your phone's system does the check. To use it, your phone needs a screen lock with a PIN, pattern, password or passcode.
With anti-theft mode on and ¡HEY! watching, turning Bluetooth off or switching on airplane mode rings the alarm.
What anti-theft mode does not do:
- It does not prevent theft, does not lock the phone, does not locate it and does not alert anyone.
- On iPhone, outside the app, the system alarm or the notification can be stopped without your fingerprint, face or code. ¡HEY! cannot protect them.
- If someone turns off or restarts the phone, the alarm stops ringing. No app runs until the phone is unlocked for the first time.
6. "My voice", "Pulse" and purchases
"My voice" lets you record your own voice, up to 5 seconds, and use it as the alarm sound. "Pulse" is an alarm sound you can listen to before buying it. Both are unlocked together with a one-time in-app payment.
- Google Play or the App Store charges the payment, with your account, at the price the store shows you, with the taxes that apply in your country.
- The purchase lets you use "My voice" and "Pulse" in ¡HEY! with the same store account. If you change phones or reinstall the app, use "Restore purchase" with that account.
- Refunds are requested from the store where you bought and follow its policies. This does not limit the rights the law of your country gives you as a consumer.
- The recording is yours and stays on your phone. Geedgo does not receive or review it.
- You are responsible for what you record. Only record your own voice or the voice of someone who gave you permission, and don't record anything illegal, offensive or that violates the rights of others. If you use another person's voice, the responsibility is yours.
7. Permitted use
Geedgo gives you a personal, limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable and revocable permission to use ¡HEY! on the devices you own or control, for your own non-commercial use.
You agree to:
- Not copy, modify, decompile, sell or distribute the app, except as the law allows.
- Not use ¡HEY! to monitor or follow another person without their consent, for example by linking another person's device.
- Not use ¡HEY! for illegal purposes or to bother others.
- Not interfere with the app or the services it uses, or try to get into them without permission.
- Not use the sounds, name or design of ¡HEY! outside the app.
8. Intellectual property
The ¡HEY! name, the logo, the design, the sounds, the texts and the app's code are protected. These terms give you no rights over them, except the permission to use in section 7. If you send us ideas or comments about ¡HEY!, we may use them with no obligation to pay you.
9. Changes, updates and remote adjustments
We may update ¡HEY!, change or remove features, or stop offering it, in all or some countries. Some updates may be needed to keep using the app or for it to work with new system versions.
Geedgo can adjust some working values remotely, for example the wait of each distance level, which never goes above 50 seconds, without releasing a new version. We do it so the app works better. These adjustments don't change the waits you calibrated. If the app cannot download them, it uses the last ones it downloaded or the default ones.
We may suspend or interrupt the online services the app uses, for example for maintenance or because of failures at Google or other providers. ¡HEY! does not need the internet to watch your device or to ring.
If we change these terms, we will publish the new version at https://yohey.app/en/terms with its effective date. If the change is important, we will tell you before it applies, at https://yohey.app and in the app's update notes. If you keep using ¡HEY! after the effective date, you accept the new terms. If you don't agree, stop using the app and uninstall it.
10. Liability
¡HEY! is an aid to help you not forget your phone, not a guarantee. We work to make it work well, but we cannot guarantee that it rings every time you walk away, or that it rings on time. It may not ring, or ring late, for reasons like these:
- Bluetooth range, which changes with walls, your body, other devices and where you carry the phone.
- Battery saving and other limits set by your phone's maker.
- Android or iOS restrictions, and the iPhone limits in section 3.
- Your phone's silent or do not disturb modes.
- How the watch, band or headphones work, since they are made by other companies.
- A restart or shutdown of the phone.
- Your settings, your permissions or a use different from the one these terms describe.
It may also ring when you did not walk away, for example if the device turns off, runs out of battery or loses the link for another reason.
¡HEY! is offered as is and as available. To the extent the law allows, Geedgo gives no other warranties, express or implied, for example that the app fits a particular purpose or works without errors or interruptions.
To the extent the law allows:
- Geedgo is not liable for the loss, theft or damage of your phone, your device or other belongings, or for what happens because the alarm did not ring, rang late or rang when it wasn't needed.
- Geedgo is not liable for indirect damages, such as lost profits, loss of data or inconvenience.
- Geedgo's total liability to you for any claim related to ¡HEY! does not exceed what you paid for ¡HEY! in the twelve (12) months before the event that caused the claim. If the law of your country does not allow that limit, the limit is the minimum that law allows.
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability that the law does not allow to be excluded or limited, for example for willful misconduct or gross negligence, or the rights the law of your country gives you as a consumer that cannot be waived.
11. Suspension and termination
You can stop using ¡HEY! whenever you want: just uninstall it.
Geedgo may suspend or end your permission to use the app if you seriously breach these terms, for example if you use ¡HEY! to monitor another person without their consent or for illegal purposes.
When your permission ends, you must stop using the app and uninstall it. Sections 8, 10, 13, 14 and 15 remain in force.
12. Privacy
How ¡HEY! handles your data is explained in the privacy policy: https://yohey.app/en/privacy
13. App stores
The terms of Google Play or the App Store also apply to the download, purchases and updates. Google and Apple are not parties to these terms.
If you downloaded ¡HEY! from the App Store, the following also applies:
- These terms are between you and Geedgo, not Apple. Geedgo, not Apple, is solely responsible for the app and its content.
- Your permission to use is non-transferable and covers using ¡HEY! on Apple-branded products that you own or control, as permitted by the Usage Rules in Apple's terms for its services (Apple Media Services Terms and Conditions). Other accounts in your Family Sharing group or volume purchasing may use it if those rules allow it.
- Apple has no obligation at all to provide support or maintenance for the app.
- If the app fails to meet an applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, which will refund what you paid for the app, if anything. To the extent the law allows, Apple has no other warranty obligation for the app. Any other claim, loss, damage or expense from a failure to meet a warranty is Geedgo's responsibility, within the limits of these terms.
- Geedgo, not Apple, is responsible for addressing any claim by you or third parties about the app or its use, including product liability claims, claims that the app fails to meet a legal or regulatory requirement, and claims under consumer protection, privacy or similar laws.
- If a third party claims that the app or its use infringes its intellectual property rights, Geedgo, not Apple, is solely responsible for investigating, defending, settling and paying that claim.
- You represent that you are not located in a country subject to a United States Government embargo or designated by that government as a country that supports terrorism, and that you are not on any United States Government list of prohibited or restricted parties.
- When using the app, you must comply with applicable third-party terms, for example those of your mobile data plan.
- Your questions, complaints or claims about the app go to Geedgo, at the details in section 16.
- Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms. When you accept them, Apple has the right to enforce them against you as a third-party beneficiary.
14. Law and courts
These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Honduras. If you have a claim, write to us first at soporte@yohey.app to try to solve it. If we don't reach an agreement, the dispute is decided by the competent courts of Tegucigalpa, Honduras. All of this is without prejudice to the rights the law of your country gives you as a consumer that cannot be waived, including the right to bring a claim before the courts or authorities of your country when that law allows it.
15. Other provisions
- If part of these terms is not valid, the rest remains in force.
- If Geedgo does not enforce part of these terms at some point, it does not waive it.
- Geedgo may transfer these terms to another company that keeps offering ¡HEY!, for example through a sale or a merger. You may not transfer them to another person.
- These terms, the privacy policy and the store's terms are the entire agreement between you and Geedgo about ¡HEY!.
- These terms are in Spanish and English. If the two versions differ, the Spanish version prevails, unless the law of your country says otherwise.
